Compared with the cheap metal nickel foil and titanium foil, the application of molybdenum foil in aluminum ion battery has better electrochemical performance and chemical stability, so it can better ensure the stable operation of the battery. The research shows that nickel foil will have chemical corrosion in the aluminum ion battery system, and will have adverse side reactions at low potential, with a narrow range of withstand voltage.
It is worth mentioning that in addition to molybdenum foil, tantalum foil, nickel foil and titanium foil, tungsten foil can also be used as a fluid collector for batteries. The results show that tungsten foil has stable electrochemical performance in the range of 0-2.5v voltage window.
