Analysis of YW Type Cemented Carbide

Like tungsten-cobalt alloys and tungsten-titanium-cobalt alloys, tungsten-titanium-tantalum (niobium)-cobalt alloys are also commonly used hard alloys. These alloys are also known as tungsten-titanium-tantalum (niobium)-cobalt alloys because of their excellent physical and chemical properties and strong versatility. For general-purpose cemented carbide or universal cemented carbide.

In terms of chemical composition, tungsten-titanium-tantalum (niobium) cobalt-based cemented carbides are composed of four chemical compounds: tungsten carbide (WC), titanium carbide (TiC), tantalum carbide (TaC) or niobium carbide (NbC) and cobalt (Co). Alloy material composed of substances. Its grade is represented by the code YW (the Chinese phonetic prefix of the two characters "hard" and "wan") followed by an ordinal number, such as YW1, YW2. Note: The purpose of adding TaC or NbC to the tungsten-titanium-cobalt alloy is to refine the grains and improve the bending resistance, impact performance, high temperature hardness and high temperature strength of the alloy.

From the perspective of physical and chemical properties, YW-type cemented carbide combines the characteristics of WC, TiC, TaC (NbC) and Co, mainly reflected in high hardness, high strength, good red hardness, good wear resistance, large elastic modulus, Strong anti-oxidation ability, small coefficient of linear expansion, excellent toughness, etc. Note: The specific physical and mechanical properties of the alloy are closely related to its chemical composition content. For example, the WC content of YW1 is 84-85%, the TiC content is 6%, the TaC content is 3-4%, the Co content is 6%, and the density is 12.6 -13.5 g/cm3, the hardness is about 91.5HRA, the strength is about 1177 MPa; the WC content of YW2 is 82-83%, the TiC content is 6%, the TaC content is 3-4%, the Co content is 8%, and the density is 12.4-13.5 g/cm3, the hardness is about 90.5HRA, and the strength is about 1324 MPa.

From the point of view of use, YW type cemented carbide is not only suitable for semi-finishing machining of chilled cast iron, non-ferrous metals and alloys, but also for semi-finishing and machining of high manganese steel, hardened steel, alloy steel and heat-resistant alloy steel. finishing.
